On the way home from rehearsal last night, sleep-deprived and thirsty and exhausted, I realized what kind of story I could write as a sequel to "Crimean Fairy Tale." And how it would open. I just totaled up my wordcount for the 7-day vacation. I did not write at all on Sunday, and only managed 94 words on Monday, but I achieved a total of 10,431 words.

The manuscript now sits at 46,812.

Some of what I wrote was crap, but it was part of the process and I should just suck it up. Yay 10,000 words! I also made it past page 200.

I am sad this is my last day of vacation. But I plan to get some writing done ( Read more... )

Okay...so maybe I'm not going to make a lot of wordcount progress today. Stopping for the time being. Will see how I feel later.

At last! Done for the day. 2014 words. I got a bit stuck at one point and had to dig up some historical photos and vintage postcards of a location online. Now I know where the next scene will be taking place, a good thing to have figured out for tomorrow's writing session.

I just passed a thousand words for the morning. Not much happening in the plot right now. They are just getting roadblock after roadblock that delays their revenge/offensive strike.
